The Ibanez B50 brings that classic, five-string banjo snap into a sleek, modern build that feels immediately familiar under the hands. With its Banjo body, flat-radius neck, and thoughtful tonewood choices, it’s ready for everything from rolling bluegrass lines to crisp, percussive frailing that cuts through a mix.
This B50 is built around a traditional Banjo body paired with Sapele back and sides, giving you a focused, punchy response that’s right at home in acoustic ensembles. The Purpleheart fretboard and bridge don’t just look striking – they emphasize the instrument’s rich tonal character, helping notes ring out with a clear, musical top end.
The B Okoume neck is carved for comfortable play, with a flat radius that makes slides, rolls, and fast melodic runs feel smooth and controlled. White dot inlays keep navigation simple and stage-friendly, while chrome open-gear tuners add a touch of classic hardware vibe and reliable tuning stability. With 22 frets and a 670mm/26.4" scale, you’ve got plenty of range for everything from traditional licks to more exploratory lines.
Factory setup includes a.011/.013/.016/.026/.010 string set, 14.5mm string spacing, and standard five-string banjo tuning (1D, 2B, 3G, 4D, 5G), so it’s ready to go for familiar right-hand patterns and left-hand shapes. A Purpleheart saddle ties the whole voice together, keeping the response tight and articulate.
Tonally, the B50 leans into a bright, defined attack with plenty of clarity, thanks to the Purpleheart fretboard and bridge. Sapele back and sides add a focused midrange that keeps rolls crisp and individual notes nicely separated, even in fast passages. The flat-radius neck and 26.4" scale help the strings feel taut and responsive, delivering that snappy banjo bark when you dig in and a sweet, singing sustain when you back off and play more gently.
