Some guitars are just built. Others are grown, aged, and carried through generations before they ever become an instrument. The Korona is one of those rare guitars. Its body is crafted from old-growth pine harvested more than 30 years ago from Brian’s grandfather’s forest. Carefully cut and stored in the family barn, this pine has been quietly aging for decades, seasoning in time and air until it was finally ready to sing.

Shipped to master builder Doug, this storied wood was transformed into a guitar that bridges heritage and tone. The old-growth pine body resonates with an open, airy character — lively, responsive, and full of harmonic depth. Paired with a roasted maple neck and fretboard, the feel is rock-solid and smooth, offering a familiar comfort with every note.

The neck’s Standard C profile makes it effortless to play, while the 12” radius and Jescar frets provide precise bends and a balanced feel across the board. Hipshot locking tuners and a compensated brass-saddle “T”-style bridge make sure that even the most expressive playing stays in tune.

Sonically, the Korona balances history with modern versatility. A Lollar Melody Maker P90 in the neck captures warm, soulful cleans and rich leads, while the J Street Bridge pickup snaps with articulate bite and dynamic punch. With a straightforward 1 volume, 1 tone, and 3-way blade switch, you’ll find everything from glassy chime to gritty growl at your fingertips.
