From the dust-blown distortion dreams of the desert comes The Barstow Cat — a B’s Music Shop exclusive version of Supercool Pedals’ Barstow Bat, featuring custom “Fear and Loathing”-inspired cat artwork by Avery Worral. This isn’t just a RAT-style distortion — it’s a snarling, high-output, EQ-flexible beast built to claw straight into your amp’s soul.

At its core, The Barstow Cat delivers that slewy, saturated, mid-snarly filth that made the original RAT a punk, grunge, and doom staple — but refined and turned up to 11. Supercool doubled the output volume, expanded the EQ range, and added turbo clipping that transforms this pedal from tight and aggressive to loud, open, and unhinged.

Set the EQ flat and you’ll hear the familiar RAT grind — biting, compressed, and perfectly rude. But twist those knobs and the Cat morphs instantly: scoop the mids for chainsaw chugs, push the highs for searing solos, or thicken the lows for fat, sludgy riffs that hit like a truck. The active EQ means you can’t really get it wrong — just more you.

Then there’s the Turbo switch.

• OUT = Silicon diode clipping: tight, saturated, and full of controlled fury.
• IN = TURBO (LED clipping): louder, looser, with fatter mids and more raw punch — like an unleashed Turbo RAT that’s had a few too many energy drinks.
