This is a player-grade Gibson J-45 from 1961 that sounds excellent and plays very well, especially in the lower positions. It’s clearly lived a hard life: there are tons of nicks, scratches, and finish checking throughout, the tuners have been replaced with Schaller tuners (original holes are still visible), and a second pickguard has been added; both pickguards are secure but show some edge lift in spots. There isn’t much saddle left and it may eventually be a candidate for a neck reset, though it currently feels good and performs strongly. It has been cleaned, set up, and restrung by our professional technicians. - Year: 1961 - Top: Spruce - Back & sides: Mahogany - Neck: Mahogany - Fingerboard: Unbound Brazilian rosewood - Nut width: 1-11/16" - Scale length: 24 3/4" - Tuners: Schaller (replacement) - Truss rod: Working properly - Cosmetic condition: Good (7/10) with heavy wear, numerous dings/scratches, finish checking, and pickguard edge lift - Weight: 4.5 lbs
