The Way Huge Smalls Doom Hammer Fuzz delivers thick, harmonically rich distortion that’s ideal for everything from modern doom and stoner rock to vintage-inspired alternative fuzz tones. It’s based on a circuit originally modified by Jeorge Tripps in 1998 for the band Oranger, where he reworked a late-’70s op-amp fuzz design to reduce the typical mid-scoop, tighten up the low end, and improve stage reliability.
Years later, Tripps revisited those original modifications, fine-tuning them into a compact pedal that balances saturation with clarity. The result is the Doom Hammer Fuzz — a compact powerhouse that offers smooth sustain, a focused EQ range, and a surprising amount of articulation for a fuzz of this weight.
With just three intuitive controls — Output, Fuzz, and Tone — you can shape your sound from gritty, responsive overdrive all the way to thick, full-spectrum fuzz. The Tone control provides a wide sweep for dialing in just the right amount of presence or low-end warmth, and the Output control ensures your amp receives plenty of signal to work with.
This is a fuzz designed not just to sound good in a mix, but to feel right under your fingers.
