To celebrate EarthQuaker Day 2025, we teamed up with the fine folks at EarthQuaker Devices and unleashed our very first cat-themed EQD collab: the Zoar Cat Paws Edition. Housed in a glittery Sour Apple Green enclosure with custom pink paw print art and a sneaky skull & crossbones kitty on the front, this limited-run fuzz/distortion hybrid claws its way through your mix with bite, growl, and finesse.

At its heart, it’s the same Zoar — a touch-sensitive, amp-like dynamic audio grinder that does everything from crisp edge-of-breakup tones to snarling hi-gain fuzz. But this one? This one pounces.

What Does It Sound Like?

Imagine stacking a vintage amp on top of a stone golem and giving it a chainsaw hug — now shape that sound with precise EQ and let your fingers guide the aggression. It’s reactive, responsive, and alive. Whether you’re going for Mastodon-style sludge, Queens of the Stone Age desert fuzz, or cleaner overdrive sounds with a little hair, Zoar gives you the control to dial in exactly how feral you want it to get.

It excels on guitar, but bass and synth players love how it holds tight in the low end, especially when you crank the Weight control. And yes — it purrs at 18v.
